About Guizhou Medical University

Founded in 1983, Guizhou Medical University (GMU), then National Guizhou medical College was the first batch of universities in China to be approved by the Ministry of Education to grant master degree in 1981 and one of the two universities to grant doctoral degrees in Guizhou in 2003. Guizhou MEDICAL UNIVERSITY (GMU) was evaluated as one of the three provincial key universities in 2005. Later Guizhou Medical University (GMU) has established post –doctoral research institute in 2010 and was crowned as the sole Medical Doctor Degree granting organization.< /p>

After 75 years of providing education in clinical medicine, pharmacy, medical laboratory science, preventive medicine and nursing. Guizhou Medical University (GMU) holds 18 teaching units: 13 schools, 1 division and 4 departments. Guizhou Medical University (GMU) currently hosts 1 doctoral program covering 7 sub-majors, 1 postdoctoral research institute, 53 master programs, and 33 undergraduate programs. Guizhou Medical University (GMU) supervises over 5 affiliated hospitas, 7 collaborating hospitals, 1 collaborating clinic medicine school, 23 teaching hospitals and 15 training hospitals.

Guizhou Medical University (GMU) was renowned for its 4 national tertiary education units, 1 national laboratory teaching exemplary center, 1 national teaching exemplary team, 3 national key secondary education majors, 3 key laboratories approved by the Ministry of Education, ,7 provincial key majors, 5 provincial clinical key majors, 1 Ministry of Education approved Development and Application Center of Ethnodrugs, 2 provincial key laboratories, 8 provincialexemplary undergraduate majors, 4 provincial teaching exemplary centers and 2 provincial teaching exemplary teams. Currently, it has an enrollment of over 15000 full time students with the proportion of over 25% master and doctoral program students.

With ever-improving teaching and research competence, Guizhou Medical University (GMU) enjoyed bigger reputation and influence. In recent years, Guizhou Medical University (GMU) has hosted more than 10 national academic conferences, established fine cooperation with renowned universities in the U. S., Sweden, Japan and other 9 countries. With a total 170 visits paid by scholars and faculty from these countries and 213 domestic visits came to Guizhou Medical University (GMU) for international and domestic cooperation. Guizhou Medical University (GMU) also emphasize on grooming its own talents by sending 400 visits to abroad for international conference and study. With ever-expanding global communication and collaboration, it has enhanced the teaching and research competence of the teaching faculty of Guizhou Medical University (GMU). Meanwhile, the university is an active participant of Chun Hui project proposed by the Ministry of Education, valued research partner of karolinska Institute of Sweden and NIH of U.S.

Admission Requirement

1. Bachelor’s Degree:
   1. Academic record equivalent to Chinese high-school
   2. Under 25 years old and be in good health
   3. Application form
   4. The certificates should be well examined Noted: students should pass their high school (10+2) with Biology and must be able to take MBBS course in English and able to cover all the fees during their study period.
2. Master’s Degree:
   1. Academic record equivalent to Chinese undergraduate
   2. Under 40 years old and be in good health
   3. Two letter of recommendation from two professor or associate professors
   4. Certificates will be examined before admission
   5. Pass all of your examinations
3. Doctor’s Degree
   1. Academic record equivalent to Chinese master’s degree
   2. Under 45 years old and be in good health
   3. Two letter of recommendation from two professors or associate professors
   4. Certificates will be examined before admission
   5. Pass all of your examinations

Application

1. MBBS in English – March 15th to August 25th
2. Postgraduates/PhDProgram –March 15th to August 15th ( postgraduate classes will be delivered in Chinese, English lectures depends on the mentor)

Guizhou Medical University (GMU) will provide Excellent student Scholarship of 5000 RMB/year for well-behaved oversea students with outstanding academic performance

Internship

After the 5 year studying in Guizhou Medical University (GMU), final year MBBS students can do internship in one of GMU’s affiliated hospitals or in their home countries. The affiliated hospital of Guizhou Medical University (GMU) undertakes the heaviest patients flow and the most sophisticated medical care services in Guizhou province. With the total 5 affiliated hospitals, 7 collaborating hospitals, 1 collaborating clinic medicine school, 23 teaching hospitals and 15 training hospitals, Guizhou Medical University (GMU) is confident to offer abundant clinical experience for MBBS undergraduates. The affiliated hospital of Guizhou Medical University (GMU) is on the opposite side of the strrt of the Guizhou Medical University (GMU) main campus, which is convenient for students for internship.

1. Tution and accommodation fee should be cleared in each October
2. HSK examination and Medical chck expenses are subject to the standard of the execution time.

Dormitory Facilities
